You Dream It. I'll Write It.

You Dream It. I Write It.

Ghostwriting and author coaching for genre fiction—crafted in your voice, with the pacing, emotion, and suspense readers crave.

About Me

My name is Dana Willhoit, and I’m a professional ghostwriter and author coach with a passion for telling unforgettable stories—especially in the genres of romance, mystery, and thrillers.

With a background as an Amazon top-50 bestselling author and award-winning journalist, I bring both creative flair and editorial precision to every project.

Whether I’m coaching a first-time novelist or ghostwriting a full manuscript, my goal is always the same: to bring your story to life in a way that’s authentic, engaging, and true to your voice.

What Does An Author Coach Do?

I draw from my extensive experience with self-publishing more than 70 books in multiple genres, to help you bring your book from concept to finish.

I can help you at any stage of your journey.  We can talk about how to pick a genre, how to do market research on that genre, how to bring your concept to life, how to outline your book, and how to schedule your writing sessions.

We can plot out the book chapter by chapter together.

And I can also help you write your blurb and develop a marketing campaign to get you visibility before you even publish.

If you have any questions, book a call with me, I’d love to find out about how I can help you on your writing journey!

Ghostwriting FAQs

Do I Need A Detailed Chapter Outline?

Nope! Some clients come to me with a detailed outline, others just have a rough concept they need to flesh out. I can jump in at any stage. If you don’t have an outline, we’ll develop one together before the writing begins. My goal is to make the process smooth, collaborative, and tailored to your needs.

How Long Will This Process Take?

The timeline depends on whether you already have an outline or we’re building the story from scratch. Once the outline is complete, I typically write two chapters of about 2000-2500 words per day, five days a week.

How Many Drafts Do You Provide?

I provide two drafts.

  • A complete first draft for your review

  • A revised second draft based on your feedback

Do You Offer Copy-Editing and Proofreading?

I don’t, and here’s why: I’m too close to the story by the time it’s finished to catch every small issue. But I work with excellent copy editors and proofreaders and can connect you with someone who is perfect for your project.
